A.P. Srinivasa

Prof. A.P. Srinivasa Murthy has had a distinguished academic record in the University of Mysore, which he served for about four decades. He taught Economics to the graduate and post-graduate students, guided a number of research scholars for their M.A., and Ph.D., degrees and carried on his own research work. On retirement in 1974 as professor and Head of the Department of post graduate studies and Research in Economics, he was associated with the Institute of Development Studies for three years as an Awardee under the U.G.C’s Scheme for the  ‘Utilization of the Services of Retired Outstanding Teacher’s. His published works include thirty books and a hundred articles both in English and Kannada. He is the recipient of the Mysore University Golden jubilee Research Award, the Merit Prize by the Delhi Administration for his work on history of India’s Freedom Movement’, two Awards in the all India Basic Literature Competition of the Government of India, Karnataka State Sahitya Academy Award, Kannada Sahitya Samvardhana Trust Award, the Mysore University Prize and a prize by the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, for his Kannada books.
