Amol Murlidhar Nimsadkar is a researcher based in Mumbai. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. at the Advanced Center for Womens Studies in Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. He holds M.Phil. in Womens Studies from the Institute and a Masters Degree in Mass Communication from the Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya, Wardha. He has also qualified the UGC JRF - NET and SET examinations. He is keenly interested in research in the fields of violence against women, women in media, gender and caste politics, women and political economy. His expertise in the field of feminist epistemology and social theory has been established through many of his published articles in the national and international journals both in the English and Hindi. He is also an activist working on the issues of women especially in the rural drought prone parts of Maharashtra. Saint Gadge Baba Youth Charitable Institute of Nimsada is registered NGO instituted under his initiative in the rural region of Nimsada in Maharashtra, which works on adult women literacy and health sanitation issues relating to adolescent and women in the reproductive age.
