Bablu Prasad

Dr. Bablu Prasad is an Assistant Professor in Department of Environmental Studies, Faculty of Science, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara, India. He has perceived doctorate degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, Mumbai in the area of Environmental Science and Engineering. His doctoral dissertation, entitled Biodegradation of Mixture of Phthalate Esters by Variovorax sp. BS1 was centered on Environmental Biotechnology and Microbiology. He has studied Chemistry as an undergraduate at Ranchi University and Marine Biotechnology as a postgraduate at Annamalai University. With training in Chemistry, Biotechnology and Environmental Science and Engineering, his primary research focuses on understanding the fate of industrial emerging pollutants in the environment and devise a strategy for their removal in both soil and water phase using biological approaches. Furthermore, he has a longstanding interest in biodegradation and bioremediation, toxicology and applied enzymology such as application of immobilized enzyme and development of low cost eco-centric drinking water filtration devices. He is keen to teach a variety of topics that encompasses Environmental Chemistry, Environmental Biotechnology and Microbiology, Water and Wastewater Management, Analytical Techniques and Natural Resource Management.He has vast interdisciplinary teaching and research experience in the area of Environmental Science. He has published several research papers in reputed international journals. He has also authored a book on Molecular Cloning of Glycerol-3-Phosphate Dehydrogenase.
