Biography
Dr. Hitesh Shukla
Dr. Hitesh Shukla is a Professor at Department of Business Management, Saurashtra University, Rajkot in the state of Gujarat, India. With teaching and research experience of over 20 years, he has also taken up varied assignments of consultancy at various levels. He has attended TOT `Corporate Governance Board Leadership`, organized by The GCGF, for capacity building programme. Dr. Shukla has developed many management cases of which two have been registered with the Case Unit, IIM-A and one with Richard Ivey Business School. His major research project - "Corporate Governance vis-ą-vis Executive Compensation and Firm performance in India" was funded by University Grants Commission in 2011. He has facilitated a survey for the Investors` Grievance Forum − "Assessment of Corporate Governance in India." to know the independency of the board and various committees, in 2004. Currently he is working on a major research project funded by UGC in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility (2013-15). He was awarded with the `YOUNG RESEARCHER AWARD - 2004` by the Indian Accounting Association. Dr. Shukla is nominated by the Government of India, Forward Market Commission, as an Independent Director (2013-15), Rajkot Commodity Exchange Ltd. He works as a management trainer for the Income Tax Department, State Bank of India Officers` Association, Indian Oil Corporation, Indian Railways and many other corporate houses in India. Recently his training module on family based business is well received by the SMEs. Dr. Shukla has participated in e-learning programme of the World Bank Institute. He has also attended various FDP`s of IIM-A, IIM-B and IIM-K and Short-Term Training Programme of different reputed institutions. He has also contributed to the workshop on `Competing Globally`- FICCI leadership forum, organized by FICCI and McKinsey, and `Inclusive Business Forum - India` organized by ADB and Delberg. He has contributed papers at various international conferences including IAAER, France, Hong Kong Accounting Association, IAARF, and many more in India and received the Best Paper awards. He has published 48 research articles in various professional and academic journals. He has five books to his credit. Based on his long association with Industry and Institutes of high Stature, he has unprecedented command over the areas of teaching, research and consultancy in management. The present work of the author serves as handy and classic combination for class-room interaction and the same will automatically and definitely add value to all stakeholders in general.
