Dr. J. Narasimha Rao, M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D. is Professor, Head & Chairman, Board of Studies at Osmania University, Hyderabad, Telangana, India. He is the Incharge Coordinator of the University Grants Commissions Special Assistance Programme (DSA-III) in the Department of Economics. He has been teaching Quantitative Methods, Econometrics, Public Economics and Growth and Development at P.G. level and guiding the research scholars in Economics for their M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees. His papers are published extensively in various academic journals in India and abroad. He has published 50 research papers in various national and international journals and completed 3 research projects. He is the author of the book "Employment & Income Generation". He served the Department of Economics, Mekelle University, during 1999-2001 and Demographic Training and Research Center (DTRC), Institute of Development Research (IDR), Addis Ababa University during 2003-2005, Ethiopia. He was the Member, Committee for the establishment of an International Centre for Micro-finance (ICMF), Member, committee for the Strategic Plan of VISION 2020 for the Department of Economics, Study Group Member in Curriculum Development for the Diploma in Micro-Finance, Department of Economics, Faculty of Business and Economics, Mekelle University and Member & Secretary, Committee for the Department of Graduate Committee (DGC), Member & Chairman, Committee for the Strategic Plan (2004-2009), Research and Graduate Program Coordinator at DTRC, Addis Ababa University during 2003-2005. He held several administrative positions, Additional Controller of Examinations, Examination Branch, General Warden, Chief Warden Office, NSS Programme Officer, Students Advisor, Coordinator for Certificate Course on Self-finance based courses, Osmania University, Hyderabad.
