Dr. K.M. Mohapatra
Dr. K.M. Mohapatra, M.A. (Economics) from Utkal University and M.Phil. and Ph.D. (Economics) from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, has served as Lecturer (Economics) in Odisha degree colleges (Belavoomi College and U.N. College) from 1982 to 1985. Since 1989, he has been a regular faculty in Economics in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Harcourt Butler Technological Institute, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. He became Professor (Economics) in the same department in 2006 and Head of the Department in 2009. He was also selected as Reader (Economics) and worked on honorary basis at Gokhale Institute of Economics and Politics, Pune in the year 2000. Dr. Mohapatra has experience of 30 years in teaching and 26 years in carrying out independent researches.Dr. Mohapatra has a better accomplishment in conducting sponsored research projects- as Project Director of two (one minor and one major) ICSSR- sponsored research projects and as a Co-investigator in an Indo-Canadia Partnership Project (major) sponsored by SICI-CIDA, and also in supervising Ph.D. students. Till date, under his supervision, two scholars have awarded Ph.D. degrees and scholars are at the verge of Ph.D. completion.He has to his credit the publication of two books- one book entitled ‘Exploitative Tenancy and Technological Backwardness in Indian Agriculture’ published by Himalaya Publishing House Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai in 1996 and another edited book entitled ‘Technology, Environment and Human Values: A Metaphysical Approach to Sustainable Development’ published by Concept Publishing Company, New Delhi in 2004. He has contributed chapters to three separate edited books. Besides, he has published about two dozens of research articles in different national and international journals and in conference proceedings. He presented research papers in many conferences and seminars held abroad and within country. From 1997 onwards, he has been doing research in the area of Environmental Economics.
