Dr. Kiran Gupta Mittal
Dr. Kiran’s life is like a nomad, some due to the natural course of life, some due to her personal choices. Born and raised in North India, North Indian culture and language have become a constant part of her life. She received her early education from Indore and Gwalior, after which she completed her further schooling from Pali and Ajmer districts of Rajasthan. After graduating with a degree in science from Rajasthan University, she completed her post-graduation in mass communication and journalism at Bhopal University. She completed her research in the field of mass communication from Rajasthan.
Reading and writing are a part of her daily life. She was actively associated with All India Radio and Doordarshan for many years. After this, she regularly wrote a weekly column named “Chalte Chalte” for Rajasthan Patrika (National Leading Hindi Newspaper) for two years. Her articles and stories have been published in many newspapers and magazines from time to time.
Dr. Kiran has been working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Veer Narmad South Gujarat University for the last fifteen years. During this period, two of her books have been published. Apart from being a member of the Board of Study of VNSGU, Kiran Mittal is also a member of many committees of the University and is also associated with the Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat of Gujarat Government.
Dr. Kiran’s language is straightforward and easy to understand. Her works have a flow and finesse in them. Her choice of words is very accurate. The use of colloquial words and the technical terms of journalism has made her language quite comprehensible. Two films made under her guidance have been awarded the First Prize and a Consolation Prize at the UNESCO National Film Festival.
