Dr. (Mrs.) V. Bhanu is a Professor of Commerce, at Nizam College, a constituent college of Osmania University, Hyderabad. She has more than thirty-five years of teaching experience and Industrial Economics is her area of specialization in research. She did her M Phil on the topic, `Industrial Development of Andhra Pradesh - A study of Size, Structure and Location (1956-1983)` and her Ph.D on the topic, `Cement Industry in India - A study of Capacity Utilisation, Investment and Inventory Behaviour ("1/70/1987)`, from Osmania University. She did her Ph.D under the guidance of Dr R Radhakrishna, an eminent economist and presently the Director of Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR). She has published her research articles in reputed journals such as Economic and Political Weekly and The Indian Economic I Journal. Some of her research articles have been included in the books titled, `Andhra Pradesh Economy in Transition` edited by I Dr. Kanaklatha Mukund (1990), Allied Publishers, and `Performance of Indian industries- A Post Reform evaluation (1989-2000) I edited by Prof Suguna (2003) of Economics Department (OU), Himalaya Publishing House. She has participated and presented 1 articles to a number of National Seminars and Fora. She has worked on UGC sponsored Minor Research Project (1998-2000), title `Investment Behaviour of Cement Industry in I India (1980-1997) and a Major Research Project (2001-2004), entitled `Capacity Utilisation in Indian Industries (1980 -2000)`. I She has guided research scholars for M Phil and Ms Nagumani is presently working under her for her Ph.D. She has made significant contribution in the framing of PG syllabus for the subjects `Business Environment and Policy` and | `International Business Environment`. She is a resource person for various refresher courses (for affiliated college teachers) organised by the Academic Staff College of Osmania University. She has worked as incharge Head Department of Commerce at Nizam College during 1999-2001. She is in the governing body and selection committee of a number of colleges. She has been a member of inspection committees, visiting affiliated colleges of Osmania University.
