Dr. Rashmi Gopinathan is Ph.D. in the stream of Management with research in the are of Entrepreneurship and Women Entrepreneurship for the grass root level, M.Phil. and MBA in HR and Marketing by qualification. She has completed her certification as an Entrepreneur Educator from Indian Institute of Management (Bangalore) and certified by Stanford Venture programmes. She has also done her EEDC with Scholarship from ISB-Indian School of Business, Hyderabad. She has won the Community Leader Award for Social Entrepreneurship from Mahindra Rise and has also received the Emerging Entrepreneur Educator Award last year by Government of India - Ministry of Skill and Entrepreneurship Development, Intel, British Council and Wadhwani Centre for Excellence. She has over 14 years of work experience in the Industry and Academics and has published and presented several papers on various subjects in her area at IIT Kanpur, IIM Kozhikode, Banaras University and so on. She is on the editorial board of an International Peer-reviewed Journal for Entrepreneurship and also on the editorial board of a book published in Entrepreneurship called as Change Makers. She has been facilitator for EDP and MDP programmes. She actively mentors Social Entrepreneurship projects for the downtrodden women community which has received acknowledgements and grants from organizations such as KPMG, Tata Chemicals, Mahindra Rise, HP, Walmart and Bluedart. She is an active member of the NEN (National Entrepreneurship Network) and ENACTUS. She also consults an UNDP run project with MPEDA - Marine Product Export Authority for the fishermen in the coast of Sindhudurg in Maharashtra. Presently, she is working as an Associate Professor at D.Y. Patil University, School of Management Navi Mumbai and teaches the subjects of Entrepreneurship and Strategic Human Resource Management. She heads the Entrepreneurship and Social Entrepreneurship Cell at D.Y. Patil University, School of Management.
