Dr. Sunil Ashok Rajpurkar

Dr. Sunil Ashok Rajpurkar, M.Sc. (Chemistry-Physical), M.Ed., Ph.D. (Edu.), NET (Edu.) is associated with Teacher Education of India for past two decades. He teaches varied subjects including Sociology of Education, Gender School and Society, Knowledge and Curriculum, Pedagogy of Science, and Environmental Education for B.Ed., and M.Ed./MA (Edu.) degree programs of University of Mumbai, SNDT Women’s University and HSNC University. Presently he is an Associate Professor at Smt. Kapila Khandvala College of Education (Autonomous), Santacruz (W), Mumbai.
As a student, he has been the Merit Rank holder for B.Ed. and M.Ed. degree examinations of the University of Mumbai. His research expertise is in the areas of moral psychology, secular values and scientific temper and he has been promoting these values among school students and teachers through his multilingual eloquence, for past several years. He has presented papers in various seminars/conferences and contributed research-based articles in numerous journals. He is also a recognised guide for the Ph.D. (Edu.) program of the University of Mumbai.
He has been the member of Syllabus Framing Committees for the Two-Year B.Ed. Program as well as the Four-Year Integrated B.Sc. B.Ed. and B.Com. B.Ed. programs of the University of Mumbai and other autonomous Teacher Education Institutions. For his autonomous institution, he has an additional charge of the Controller of Examinations.
Dr. Rajpurkar is a consistent writer in English, Hindi, and Marathi and enjoys penning down academic reflections and human experiences through subtle write-ups, poems and shaayrees. He is also an author of a Marathi reference book “संधारणीय पर्यावरण व्यवस्थापन ” (Sustainable Environmental Management) published by Himalaya Publishing House in 2012. He carries deep passion for literature, owning more than a thousand books in his personal library.
