Mala Lalvani is currently Lecturer in Economics at the Department of Economics, University of Mumbai, India. She has authored/co-authored many articles examining the growth of government in India in a Public Choice framework. In particular, her publications explore the and coalition governments in the Indian economy. More recently, she has been concerned with political economy of decentralization in the Indian federation.
