Shailendra Kumar Sinha

Shailendra Kumar Sinha has more than thirty-two years of teaching experience upto graduation and post graduate levels. He is a graduate, B.Sc. (Zoology) (Hons.) from Ranchi College, Ranchi and did M.Sc. (Zoology) with Ecology (ENVIRONMENTAL BIOLOGY) as special paper from Ranchi University, Ranchi in 1981. He joined as a Commissioned Lecturer in the Department of Zoology at R.S. More College, Govindpur, Dhanbad on 23 November, 1981. He did his Ph.D. in the field of HELMINTH PARASITOLOGY. Presently, Dr. Sinha is serving as Associate Professor in the Department of Zoology at P.K.R.M. College, Dhanbad (A constituent P.G. College under Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribag). He received Fellowship of Zoological Society of India (FZSI) in 2005; Fellowship of National Environmentalist Association (FNEA) in 2008; Fellowship of FMSET and International Consortion of Contemporary Biology (FMSET-FICCB) in 2011 and Fellowship of Society of Life Science (FSLSc) in 2012. He has been awarded the V.P. SATHE FOUNDATION SENIOR SCIENTIST award for his contribution in the field of life science and the D.K. BELSARE GOLD MEDAL for his outstanding research and academic contribution in the field of Ecology in the year 2011 and 2013 respectively. Dr. Sinha has participated in several conferences and seminars at the international and national level and has more than 25 research papers published in various esteemed journals. He also attended workshops on SCANNING ELECTRON MICROSCOPE at the University of Burdwan (W.B.) and ENVIS at Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad. His articles on environmental problems are regularly published in local dailies and magazines. His book IMMUNOLOGY AND MEDICAL ZOOLOGY was published in the year 2009. He has successfully supervised six research scholars for the award of Ph.D. Presently, he is guiding research work in the field of Ecology.
