Suparna Dugal is an Associate Professor at the Department of Microbiology in Sophia College, affiliated to the University of Mumbai. She has taught Medical Microbiology for 21 years to undergraduate, post-graduate and medical laboratory technology students. She has been the recipient of many research grants, published over 30 research articles in national and international journals, as well as served as a referee for several reputed international publishing houses including the Nature Group of Publishers, London. She won two Pearson Teaching Awards- for "Innovative Teaching at the Undergraduate Level" in India, as well as the "Best Teacher Award" in India in 2013. In 2014, she received "Certificate of Excellence" – Science & Technology Awards by EET CRS (Research wing for Excellence in Professional Education & Industry, India).
