Uttarakhand is the state with lot of untapped potentials for enterprise development like sericulture, pomology, olericulture, horticulture, and orchard plantation, ornamental plants cultivation, etc. There are various supporting institutions for the information dissemination, rearing practices, mulberry plant cultivation, weaving, etc. covered by the institutions like Directorate of Sericulture, Silkworm Rearing Center and Central Silk Board is providing lot of support in various manners for local population to engage in this enterprise and take it up as venture. Entrepreneurship is one of the solutions to growing employment among farm women. It helps to generate employment particularly for farmstead women because they possessed abundant potential and possessions to take up an enterprise, as they have the benefit of easy availability of farm and livestock based raw material and other resources. Hence, they can effectively undertake both production and processing oriented enterprises. The book will give a clear picture of the degree of entrepreneurial determinants possessed by women engaged in sericulture along with the capacity building measures. The persistence of the book is to comprehend the entrepreneurship behavior, degree of entrepreneurial determinant, capacity building will as panacea to endow and inculcate the skills.
