The National Education Policy, 2020 heralds new hopes, new inspirations, new vistas and new destination for Commerce and Management student community. In the first module of the textbook, the Introduction to management, encompassing its nature, scope, importance, management thoughts, evolution of management are thoroughly deliberated keeping in mind, the NEP intent.
In the second module, Purpose of Planning, Planning Process; Objectives; Types of plans, Decision making are covered. In the third module, the concept of Organization; Principles of Organizing; Delegation of Authority; Nature and Importance of Staffing are meticulously covered.
In the fourth module, Directing and Communicating, Communication Barriers, Types of Communication; theories of Motivation and styles of leadership are lucidly portrayed.
Eventually, in the fifth module Coordination, Importance and Principles, Techniques of Control are covered. In the sixth Business Social Responsibility – Meaning, Arguments for and against Business Social Responsibility; Green management, Ethics in Business are systematically presented therein.
Each chapter is meticulously presented with learning objectives, detailed discussion of concepts, theories, models and living cases with examples.
