The present title “Biophysics” is of interdisciplinary nature, and has been intended mainly for the students of Biological, Medical, Biomedical and Life Sciences. It is an introductory source to the various physical activities going on inside the living beings, and also to the various techniques employed to bring out the essential structural and functional aspects of biological entities. The techniques and methodologies that Biophysics relies on are closer to Physics and Chemistry, but the areas of applications are in biological and medical sciences. It is one of the fatest emerging fields and has acquired distinct academic description in recent years. In the present title, the subject matter has been presented in a step by step systematic manner. The selection of the material is a problem in such a project and it has been author’s aim to strike a good balance. Easy, simple and clear understandable illustrations correct and latest information are the main features of this title. Efforts have been made to avoid the old outdated and rejected views and modern findings have been incorporated to make the understanding of biological structures and their functions at the molecular level possible.
