I am very pleased to bring out this textbook for the students of Physics in the second semester studying the newly introduced syllabus under National Education Policy 2020. This textbook continues the spirit espoused in the previous semester’s text. It is my experience that for a teacher to engage with a concept intensely is impossible without somewhat reintroducing himself to the concept. That way, every time a concept is rendered earnestly in class, a private reinvention occurs. These micro epiphanies are priceless.
Writing this book, albeit merely a textbook, necessitated me to engage with the concepts of electricity and magnetism in a manner that is different from how I would do it otherwise. It required me to approach the concepts anew and more rigorously. And it has been a glorious encounter.
