The present book, entitled Research Methodology: A Course Book, is an introduction to the basics of research methodology as practiced in the field of research. We wrote this course book to assist postgraduate students and those aspiring to qualify for UGC NET examinations and Ph.D. admission tests conducted by various universities across India. The UGC and University of Mumbai’s NEP guidelines emphasize the crucial role of research in advancing higher education, underscoring the necessity of teaching research methodology at all teaching levels at HEIS.

The book covers some of the fundamental concepts of research, research problems and research design, how to choose a topic, research methods and techniques of data collection, measurement and scaling, styles of documentation, plagiarism, advantages of computers in research, etc. in a very lucid and simplified manner. The book aims to be free from research jargon in order to better understand the complex aspects of research. Moreover, the book caters to the needs of research students and scholars engaged in research writing and the publication of research papers. It also covers safety measurements and protocols.
