Aarti Prasad has done her doctoral work on ‘Economic Conditions of Nurses in Mumbai: A Situational Analysis’ from the Department of Economics, University of Mumbai. She has an excellent academic record and has completed her entire higher education from the University of Mumbai. She is an Associate Professor in South Indian Welfare Society’s College, Mumbai. She has been involved in postgraduate teaching besides having teaching experience of more than 26 years at the undergraduate level. Before she joined the teaching profession, she worked as a journalist and covered general news. She has written extensively on health issues, migration of Indian nurses and problem of nurses in Mumbai. Currently, she is doing research sponsored by University of Mumbai on ‘Job Satisfaction among College Teachers in Mumbai’. Her area of interest include labour studies, health and education. She is currently a member of the Senate of the University of Mumbai.
