Dr. Arati Prabhu
Dr. Arati Prabhu describes herself as "an outgoing person, enthusiastic, self-motivated and disciplined." She further adds working in the industry has made her "sensitive to service, organized, with an eye for detail and sharp follow-ups". Her educational and professional qualifications include: Doctorate in Organization Management (Savitribai Phule Pune University), qualified NTA-UGC NET examination, Master of Hotel Management & Catering Technology (First class with distinction, Savitribai Phule Pune University), Diploma in Tourism Management (A Grade, University of Waikato, New Zealand), Bachelor of Arts (First Class, Mumbai University) and Diploma in Hotel Management & Catering Technology (First Class, Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology, Mumbai). She has completed numerous research paper publications, featuring in International and National Journals of Management. Dr. Prabhu is in academia for close to a decade. Having worked with illustrious institutions like Dr. D.Y. Patil IHMCT and AISSMS College of Hotel Management & Catering Technology, she is now working at the prestigious Department of Management Sciences (PUMBA), at Savitribai Phule Pune University. She is the founding teaching faculty of the newly commenced one-of-its-kind BBA in Hospitality and Facilities Management. She has also taught subjects like Marketing, Human Resource Management, Entrepreneurship Development, F&B Service, F&B Controls, Principles of Management, Personality Development and Business Communications. Her strength in teaching is a sound backup of a decade long industry experience with Kamat Hotels India Limited as Assistant Training Manager (September 2008 – April 2009), The O Hotel Pune as Assistant Training Manager (October 2007 – September 2008), Employee Welfare, Taj Lands End Mumbai as Banquet Office Manager (June 2005 – April 2007), Hyatt Regency Mumbai as Catering Sales Manager (May 2004 – May 2005), JW Marriott Mumbai as Assistant Sales Manager (October 2001 – February 2003), and The Leela Mumbai as Assistant Manager, Food and Beverage Service (August 1998 – September 2001).
