Dr. Arun Dev Sharma, at present working as HOD / Assistant Professor in the PG Department of Biotechnology at Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, Punjab. Dr. Arun Dev Sharma did his M.Sc. and Ph.D Degree of Biotechnology from GNDU, Amritsar. His area of research was plant molecular biology and rDNA Technology in plants related to abiotic stresses. He was selected for Gold Medal based upon his top position among all the students. In 2003, Dr. Sharma joined Department of Biotechnology, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar. During this period he has achieved various milestones being as teacher and researcher in the Department. He has guided Three students for M.Phil. Degree and M.Sc. students for their dissertation work. Dr. Sharma has presented various papers in the international conferences, viz: Italy, USA, Poland and China during the last five years. He was selected in the Editorial Board of many International Journals. From the last so many years he has been working on two research projects being sponsored by DST, Govt. of India and UGC, Govt. of India. To his credit he has published about 30 International research papers working on the problems of water scarcity and drought in Punjab on plant productivity of wheat and sorghum crops, etc. For the last four years, two workshops for B.Sc., MSc. and Ph.D. students were organised by him on the latest trends of Biotechnology being sponsored by DBT, Govt. of India and UGC. During this current year his Department has received a grant of 35 lakh being as DST-FIST grant for M.Sc. Biotechnology and 55 lakh as STAR College Grant from DBT to strengthen B.Sc. Biotechnology area.
