Dr. Chumki Biswas is an Associate Professor at TSEC, a renowned engineering college in Mumbai. She holds a Doctorate Degree in Applied Linguistics from the University of Mumbai (MU) and is actively involved in empirical research in task-based teaching for listening and speaking skills. Equipped with 22 years of teaching experience, she is often invited as an area expert to various well-acclaimed institutions like Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Department of English and Department of Distance Education (IDOL), MU.
For the last 12 years, Dr. Biswas has been spearheading the syllabus for the subject of Professional Communication and Ethics for Bachelor of Engineering students at MU. She has been associated with Oxford University Press (OUP) for the last 17 years as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and has conducted over 500 workshops and seminars in areas like English Language Teaching, Soft Skills, Business Communication, Organisational Behaviour, to name a few.
Dr. Biswas is a Cambridge-certified Examiner for English language proficiency tests. She also has the honour of working for the Ministry of Civil Aviation as an English Rater for Air Traffic Controllers. Additionally, she works for Tata Consultancy Services (TCSiON) as a Test Material Developer for high-stakes government exams. In the past, she was associated with international organisations like Prometric, USA; Sprott School of Business, Canada; and Oxford University Press, U.K., in the capacity of a SME.
