Dr. M.G. Shirahatti is a well-learned academician who had a long stint of forty-three years experience in the academic field and was accredited with positions of Professor of Commerce, Principal of Lala Lajpat Rai College of Commerce and Economics and Director of Lala Lajpat Rai Institute of Management. He had his M.Com. from Karnataka University, MFM from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute, LL.B. and Ph.D. from Mumbai University. He has written books on Commerce and Management and presented papers at National Conference of All India Principal’s Association. He is accredited with a book on disinvestment along with Dr. N.A. Mujumdar. He was the Dean of the Faculty of Commerce, Mumbai University and is a member of the Academic Council and Senate of the Mumbai University. He was the Dean of the Faculty of Commerce, Mumbai University. Dr. Shirahatti is also on the board of various academic institutions in advisory capacity. He was the Director at Interconnected Stock Exchange of India Ltd. Presently, he is the Director General of Oriental Institute of Management and Oriental School of Business at Vashi, Navi Mumbai.
