Dr. P. R. Panchamukhi after his distinguished academic career in Poona and Bombay Universities was C.N. Vakil Professor in Economics at Bombay University. He was also the Director of the Indian Institute of Education. Pune, before which he was the Advisor and Chief of the Financial Resources Division in the Planning Commission, Government of India. Recipient of the coveted Jagannath Shankar Seth Sanskrit Scholarship from SSC Board and V. K.R.V. Award for original Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi. Dr. Panchamukhi has authored a number of research papers published in national and international publications. He is the author of a number of research studies sponsored by national and international bodies. Being one of the pioneers in economics of education, and economics of health, his research contributions in the field of educational planning, educational financing, health economics etc. are received highly in the research circles. He has edited a five volume study on Educational Reforms in India.
