Dr. Ramakanta Patra
Dr. Ramakanta Patra completed his Graduation (B.A.) & Post- graduation (M.A.) from Calcutta University, LL.B. (Professional), Two Year’s Full-time Masters in Personnel Management, Ph.D. in Human Resource Accounting from Bhopal University. At present, Dr. Patra is Director of DSMS Business School, Durgapur. He has more than 12 years of experience in different industries, and 14 years from National Institute of Technology (NIT), Bhopal. After award of Ph.D., took lien from NIT, Bhopal, and joined VNS Institute of Management, Bhopal, followed by IBAT School of Management, Bengaluru, Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar, ICFAI Business School, Dehradun, Krupajal Business School, Bhubaneswar, NSHM Business School, Durgapur in senior positions, and taught the MBA/PGDM students. Dr. Patra has conducted a good number of FDPs, MDPs, EDPs, Case- writing workshops, Short-term Training Programmes for Corporate and academicians. He has participated in National-level Essay Writing Competitions and has been duly awarded by Sahara India and Rajkumar Adukia Foundations. Dr. Patra is also associated with several professional bodies like NIPM, NHRD, etc. Dr. Patra has been awarded Ph.D. in the year 2002, on the topic “Human Resource Accounting”, which was recognised by Indian Council of Social Science and Research, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India as the best work and received grant-in-aid for its publication. Dr. Patra has a good number of research papers to his credit published in referred national (40) and international journals (08), and attended a number of national / international seminars / conferences. Dr. Patra had been Editor of Management Journals at his previous B-Schools. Dr. Patra has guided four Ph.D. Scholars. Based on his long association with Industry and Institutes, he has a good command over teaching, research and administrative areas, which will be a good combination for classroom interaction and the same, will definitely be a value addition to students in specific and all stakeholders in general. Dr. Patra has also published two books on: (1) Human Resource Accounting, and (2) Strategic Human Resource Management and Organisational Development, and other two are in pipeline.
