Dr. Samir Show is an Assistant Professor in Economics at Kumarganj College under the University of Gour Banga with more than 20 years of experience in teaching at the higher secondary and undergraduate levels. He was once an Assistant Teacher at Dubda Deshpran Birendra Vidyapith (H.S.) and Eriamara Ratanmoni High School (H.S.) in Purba Medinipur. He has a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Economics from Vidyasagar University, M.Sc. in Mathematics from Mahatma Gandhi University and an MBA from Mizoram University. He has passed UGC-NET and SET (WB) as well. His areas of interest are rural development, agricultural economics and interdisciplinary studies. Dr. Show has written more than 30 research papers in renowned journals and given talks at National and International conferences. His book on crop diversification and rural development in India has been published. He has also worked in academic administration, serving as Bursar, IQAC Coordinator, Examination Coordinator, NSS Programme Officer and Project Supervisor under NEP 2020.
