Biography
P.C. Joshi
Dr. P.C. Joshi obtained his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from Kumaun University, Nainital. He started his career from Ministry of Environment and Forests, Govt. of India, in 1990. Dr. Joshi is presently a faculty in the Department of Zoology and Environmental Sciences, Gurukula Kangri Vishwavidyalaya, Hardwar. Dr. Joshi has received prestigious fellowships like Colombo Plan Fellowship of British council and BOYSCAST fellowship of Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. He has attended training programs on conservation of biodiversity : tools and techniques at University of Kent, University of Reading, University of Bradford in U.K. and University of Wyoming in USA. He has attended special training of three weeks at Jersey Wildlife Preservation Trust, Jersey U.K. on captive breeding of endangered species, at Widlife Institute of India, Dehradun on biological monitoring of forests and, at Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, Dehradun on natural resources management. He has published more than forty-five research papers in various international and national journals, attended twenty-six conferences / seminars / symposia at national and international level and presented his research papers besides authoring a book on biodiversity and conservation. He is an honorary member of Orthopteran Society of America. He has also been conferred honorary fellowships by Indian Academy or Environmental Sciences, Zoological society of India, International Society for Conservation of Natural Resources and, Society of Environmental Sciences. He has been actively engaged in research since 1985 and has produced six Ph.D.s so far.
