Prof. Jasbir Singh

Prof. Jasbir Singh is working as a Professor of Economics and Head of the Department of Economics, University of Jammu, Jammu (J&K), India. He did his Ph.D. from the University of Jammu. He has attended more than 44 conferences and presented papers and published about 32 research articles in different journals of repute. He has written three books namely: “The Economy of Jammu and Kashmir”, “Economic Environment of Business”, and “Working of Integrated Rural Development Programme”. He worked on projects on `Jammu & Kashmir State Human Development Report-2011’ sponsored by the State Government in collaboration with the Ministry of Planning, Govt, of India (as member), “Dropout Rates Among Gujjars of Jammu Region-2009” sponsored by UGC-SAP. Department of Political Science, University of Jammu, “Status of Resources Utilization and Management: A Study of Chenani Watershed (J&K)” 2003; “Conditions and Status of Working Women: A Study of Jammu City” 1999 and “Evaluation of Rural Development Programmes: A Field Study of Rajouri District (Jammu and Kashmir State)” 1996. He has attended 19 workshops and 11 orientation courses. His main interest is to work on agriculture and rural economy. Human Resource Development and Gender Economics.
