Prof. S.V. Satyanarayana, is a Professor of Commerce and Officer on Special Duty to the Vice-chancellor, Osmania University, Hyderabad. He has worked as Research Director in the "Research and Monitoring Wing for Essential Commodities in Andhra Pradesh" on deputation at the request of the Government of Andhra Pradesh for four years from November 1998 to October 2002. He has also been the deputy coordinator, UGC Special Assistance programme at the Department of Commerce, Osmania University. He has guided 8 Ph.Ds. and 8 M.Phil. Scholars and is presently guiding 6 students at the doctoral level. He has completed amajor research and two minor research projects approved by UGC. He has edited and published number of textbooks, research papers and monographs on "Essential Agricultural Commodities: A statistical Profile" for the Government of Andhra Pradesh. His areas of specialisation are Managerial Economics and Business Environment.
