The National Education Policy, 2020 heralds new hopes, new inspirations, new vistas and new destination for Commerce and Management student community. The present book is authored keeping in mind the student-centric, self-cognising and learning based outcomes. The visionary NEP will fructify in course of time bringing greater value, utility and meaningfulness to the learners, who form the significant human capital of our country. Since the subject belongs to Discipline Specific Core, the content of each module is effectively presented for easy and simple understanding by all.

In the first unit of the textbook, the introduction to Management – Importance – Managerial Functions, Essence, Evolution of the Management thoughts and theories are thoroughly deliberated keeping in mind, the NEP intent.

In the second unit, Meaning and Nature of Planning, Types of plans-Planning process; Strategic planning: and Techniques like SWIT/TOWS/WOTS-UP-BCG Matrix Competitor Analysis, Decision-making-Concepts are discussed. In the third unit, Concept of Organizing, Span of management, Different types of authority and Network Organisation Structure are meticulously covered.

In the fourth unit, staffing: Concept and process of Staffing, concepts of Motivation and its theories. Types of leadership are arrayed. Subsequently concepts of Communication, its types and Barriers to communication are lucidly portrayed.

Eventually, Concept of Controlling, Major Techniques of control and Coordination concepts are systematically presented in the fifth unit.

Each unit is meticulously presented with learning objectives, detailed discussion of concepts, theories, models and living cases with examples. The book is reader friendly and worth treasuring it for the posterity. Each chapter ends with objective, analytical and essay type questions.
