The book includes the discussion on theoretical aspects of Organic Chemistry such as further study reaction species and methods of determination of mechanism of reactions. The concept of aromaticity has been made clear with sufficient examples. In the earlier class the students were introduced to an elementary idea of stereochemistry. In this book this subject has been extended further to include projection formulae, nomenclature of stereoisomers and also an idea of conformations.
In the earlier class the chemistry of different functional group was studied taking the example of aliphatic series of compounds. In this book the chemistry of aromatic compounds is dealt with, emphasizing their different from aliphatic compounds.
