The efficacy and relevance of contract farming in Indian setup has always been a burning issue of discussion in contemporary times. There are many pertinent questions which arise from the said issue. Some of the burning issues involved are, “Is Contract farming really useful in enhancing production, if so, to what extent?”, “what are the factors involved therein?”, “Are there any negative repercussions from the same?”, “To what extent is contract farming helpful for solving systemic and structural problems plaguing Indian Agricultural sector?” and the like. In this research pursuit, based on primary data, we have tried to understand the potential and significance of contract farming in addressing the systemic and structural problems of the nation in meeting its food security in a sustainable and relevant manner.
