New Education policy (NEP) framework introduced by Government of India focuses on introducing structural changes in the education system of the country. The new policy proposes to conduct school education (including pre-school, primary and secondary level) for 12 years and higher education/degree education spread over four years. Implementation process has commenced throughout the country. Progressive state like Karnataka has taken the step to introduce the new policy at the degree level.
As per new policy, degree course has multidimensional approach. A graduate who rolls out under new curriculum will acquire knowledge, skill and confidence to take up either self-employment (entrepreneur) or a paid job (Intrepreneur). This is facilitated by new policy. A student who opts for business education (B.Com. or BBA) will also have a choice to study a subject related to Science/Mathematics or humanities.
