The book Unfolding Potential with Multiple Intelligences Provides an overview of Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences Theory (MI Theory) and its use in home and classroom environment This Theory has become the basic for most of the curricula utilized in the classroom. It has also paved the way for parents and caregivers to rethink strategies to interact with the child. This theory has broadened the way to look at children and their potential. Children have their own capacity to learn and reflect their understanding. Early identification of children’s multiple intellgences will help to blossom their inner potential.

This book is divided into three parts. In Part I, there are six chapters which highlights MI theory. Chapter 1 present definitions of intelligence observed by different researchers. Chapter 2 provides description of multiple intelligences emphasizing the characteristics among children. Every theory has its roots in plethora of researches which has been explained in nutshell. Environment is considered to be very important factor in learning and reflecting the potential of children. It includes teaching strategies and active learning activates utilized to create the environment (Chapter 3).

Application (Chapter 4) and Assessment (Chapter 5) are integral part of MI theory, which is to be done simultaneously as continuous assessment provides a platform to create required changes in teaching and learning process. Methods have been illustrated to apply MI theory with lesson plan learning among children. These assessments have been described in detail with sample rubric scale to assess the progress of the child.

Part II consists of stimulating activates based on MI theory for infants to create conducive environment for the children to develop and nurture their abilities. As development is very rapid in infancy, stimulation techniques have been divided into three age groups, viz., 7-12 months, months, 13-18 month, and 19-24 months. Parents can develop similar kind of activates based on this research based work.

Part III elaborates the simple lesson plans targeting multiple intelligences of the children. Under each title, two types of lesson plans have been illustrated. Teachers can brainstorm their mind and apply them according to need of the classroom.

The content of this book is designed for parents and teachers to enhance their knowledge and motivation to revisit their existing strategies and adopt innovative ways to interact with the children at home and classroom respectively.
