This book can serve as a comprehensive guide, teaching aspiring designers, like you, essential UI/UX design principles, methodologies and best practices. It will equip you with the foundational knowledge needed to start and excel in this field. I will move from helping you put down the major jargons required to know, delve deeper into concepts and ultimately become job ready.

This book emphasizes the importance of a user-centered design approach, so that you learn to prioritize users’ needs and preferences in your design solutions. The book includes practical examples and case studies that will allow you to apply theoretical concepts to realworld design projects. This will in turn help in building a strong portfolio while gaining practical experience.

For readers who want to be professionals working in cross-functional teams, I have emphasized on effective communication and collaboration strategies to work seamlessly with developers, product managers and stakeholders.

Unlike many bootcamps and technical blogs, I have tried to keep boring, textbook-ish (for the lack of a better word) content at bay and targeted practical and implementable content. As it is evident, this is not a college textbook! It’s more of a hands on, market relevant book that helps you understand everything about UI and UX.

There is no end to the possibilities and depth of this field. All you need is a drive to absorb knowledge and learnings and of course improve yourself along with the product. Not having any textbook to follow, makes it seem like a battlefield.

This is my attempt to make a contribution to this field, with a well-rounded UI/UX book that can serve as a reference guide and address the importance of inclusivity in design, encourage designers to create products, accessible and enjoyable for all users. By the time you reach the end, I am certain you will have a strong grounding in UX techniques, be ready to start a career in UI/UX and serve as a designer in your organisation!
