Dr. D.K. Kapgate, M.Sc., Ph.D., D.Sc., Retired Associate Professor and Head, Dept. of Botany from J.M. Patel College, Bhandara. He has a vast teaching experience of 30 years at UG, 20 years at PG and 36 years of Research. Recognized M.Phil. and Ph.D. supervisor of RTM Nagpur, SGB Amravati, Gondwana, Algappa, Periyar and Singhania Universities. 09 M.Phil., 06 Ph.D. students are awarded and 08 students are working for Ph.D. He is a member of Board of Studies in Botany of RTM Nagpur University. He an eminent Palaeobotanist of Central India. He published 78 research papers, papers, 09 Text Books and 04 Practical Book on Botany. He is also Associate Editor of the Journal "Botanique", Joint Secretary of Science Research Institute International, Fellow of Indian Botanical Society, Indian National Academy of Science, United Writers Association. He has completed UGC Major Research project and now working on International collaborative project with Cleveland Museum, Florida University – USA and Institute of Botany. Beijing China. He was one of the Organizing Secretary of 3rd Sino-Indian International conference held at Beijing-China in 2002. He visited Australia, Europe, America, China, Thailand and other countries for scientific collaborations / exchange programme. He is a member of various Scientific National and International Societies / Organizations.
