Dr.(Mrs.) Manisha S. Dikholkar

Dr. (Mrs.) Manisha S. Dikholkar, Head, Department of History is a member of the teaching staff of the Elphinstone College, Government of Maharashtra, Mumbai, since 1972. She received her M.A. degreee in History from Nagpur University and obtained her Ph.D. from SNDT Women`s University, Mumbai, for her study entitled India`s Struggle for Independence - British Reaction and Responses 1885-1920. She also has a Sahitya Ratna in Hindi from Prayag University. Her interdisciplinary interests include a Post Graduate Diploma in Clothing Technology from Leeds University U.K. She also completed a certificate course in Ancient Indian Culture, Religion and Philosophy from Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan, Mumbai. Author of the book The History of India`s Freedom Struggle in Britain – British Reaction And Responses 1885-1920 (published in 1996) for which she has received the `Best History Author Award` from World NRI Technocrat, Canada, and International TAP Foundation, 1996. She has presented many research paper`s in various national and international seminars and conferences and has published many of them. The authors forthcoming books are`lndian and Foreign Womens` Contribution to India`s Freedom Struggle`, Some Aspects of Hinduism` and `American Friends of India`.
