Mrs. (Dr.) Veena Kumari

Mrs. (Dr.) Veena Kumari obtained her M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Agricultural Economics from Rajendra Agricultural University, Bihar, Pusa, Samastipur in the years 2001 and 2006 respectively, all in first division with honours in Masters. Besides this, she also cleared National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi in 2005 and 2010. She was awarded Merit Scholarship during graduation and University fellowship during her Masters and Ph.D. degrees. She has about 15 research articles to her credit in reputed national journals. She has also; published three book chapters along with six popular articles in reputed magazines. She has participated and presented papers mainly on food security and rural development aspects in national and international seminars, conferences, etc. She also participated in International Workshop jointly organized by IRRI and ILRI at ICRISAT, Patencheru, Hyderabad. She is a lifemember of Agricultural Economics Research Association (AERA), New Delhi. She has started her career as a Guest Faculty (Lecturer) at Bihar Agricultural College, Sabour during 2006-07, and contributed in the preparation of Comprehensive District Agricultural Plan (C-DAP), Government of Bihar during 2008. She is currently working as a Research Associate under World Bank funded subproject of National Agricultural Innovation Project (NAIP) entitled “Sustainable Livelihood Improvement through need-based Integrated Farming System models in Disadvantaged.Districts of Bihar” at ICAR Research Complex for Eastern Region, Patna, Bihar since 2009.
