This book is intended to satisfy the requirements of syllabi of some universities for pharmaceutical courses. It covers basics from fermentation technology and generic engineering and few applications of these technologies. Since the book is syllabus oriented, enthusiastic reader may refer to details of some topics in appropriate resources.
There are four major problems that are faced by human beings − Diseases of man and animals, shortage of food, energy shortfall and environment damage. All our scientific efforts are directed to solve these problems. Biotechnology also has made its contributions to address these problems and give solutions. If there is any field in which biotechnology has made most remarkable contributions, it is the field of healthcare.
