This text book is designed as per the SEP syllabus of Tumkur University for Third Semester BCA. The book is also useful for MCA, Diploma students. This book covers programming concepts with appropriate examples in very effortless and straightforward approach for the beginners.
The book comprises of 5 units. Unit-1 covers features of python, basic elements of python, input and output statement and control statements.
Unit-2 covers functions and modules, user defined functions with formal arguments, concepts of array, strings operations, concepts of exceptional handling and multithreading.
Unit-3 covers python data structure like—list, tuple and dictionary. Operations on list, tuple and dictionary.
Unit-4 covers basics concepts of object-oriented programming, inheritance and its types, polymorphism and types of polymorphism.
Unit-5 covers Data Base creation, sqlite3 connectivity, SQL commands—DDL, DML, DCL, DTL. GUI in python, tkinter package, Introduction to Pandas, Series and DataFrames, Creating DataFrames from Excel Sheet and .csv file. Data visualisation—Matplotlib Library; Different Types of Charts using Pyplot—Line chart, Bar chart and Histogram and Pie chart.
