It gives me immense pleasure to present this first revised edition of Western Political Thought to the teachers and students of SYBA third Semester. The objective of this subject as per University of Mumbai guidelines is to introduce the learners to public administration by providing an evolutionary background of the discipline. Learners will be able to identify similarities and differences between the ideas of different western political thinkers. Learners will be able to understand the historical context in which western political ideas have emerged and evolved. Learners will be able to study seminal combination of renowned thinkers for distinct themes of political thought. Learners will be able to demonstrate critical thinking and analytical skills and apply the key ideas of western political thought to challenges of modern world.
The syllabus is divided into four modules. The topics are discussed in a detailed and simple manner. Possible questions are given at the end of each paper.
