The purpose of this Book is to cover the political history of Europe since the French Revolution of 1789. The book has been specially prepared to meet the requirements of the Under-Graduate Classes of all the Universities in Karnataka. While we have conformed to the syllabus of the Karnataka Universities, the book may be found useful by the students in other Indian Universities also.
The period between the French Revolution and the 1960s has been divided into Twelve Chapters. The range of studies on various aspects of European History that has appeared in recent years is very large. We are greatly profited from the numerous excellent works and we record our thanks to all those authors from whom we have borrowed.
