The entrepreneur is the key factor in the economic development of a nation. Entrepreneurial Development has been recognised globally as vital to rapid and sustainable economic growth as well as welfare of the people.

The expected development is possible only when educated young people come forward to start industries of their own. In these days of uncertain business environment and highly sophisticated information technology, prospective entrepreneurs have to be motivated and trained to take up self employment ventures.

Recognising the importance of entrepreneurial development, the Government of India has formulated several policies, established many institutions and initiated incentive schemes to motivate, train and develop entrepreneurs in the country. In addition, the state governments have implemented their own schemes to develop and nature the growth of MSMEs.

Having felt the need to stimulate and develop the hidden talents of entrepreneurship in the minds of students, almost all Universities and colleges have included a component relating to entrepreneurship development in their undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

The present book is designed as a text book to cater to the reeds of students who pursue undergraduate courses in colleges of Tamil Nadu.

● Exhaustive coverage of the syllabus.
● Presentation of various aspects of entrepreneurial development in a simple and lucid style.
● Arrangement of chapters in a cohesive and logical manner.
